I am a Senior Researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Bremen, Germany, within the Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) research department. My work focuses on intelligent robotic systems for electrically powered and sensor-enhanced wheelchairs, including driver assistance functions, autonomous navigation algorithms, and adapted user interfaces for people with special needs. I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Bremen in 2007. My research further includes deep neural networks, with a particular focus on the analysis and modeling of medical time-series data.
